This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in assembly, testing, machining, or lab environments, who can work with high-precision components and follow detailed engineering instructions.This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced photonic systems, with comprehensive on-the-job training provided for candidates from electronics, mechanical, or manufacturing backgrounds.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and inspection processes based on engineering drawings and work instructionsPerform tasks such as optical fiber splicing, photonic circuit assembly, mechanical builds, soldering, and microscopyOperate machining equipment (lathes, mills, CNC) for precision part fabricationIntegrate COTS optical equipment (power meters, laser sources, monitoring tools)Assist with equipment calibration following vendor and custom proceduresMaintain and operate fabrication tools such as wire bonding, photomasking, and epoxy systemsEnsure preventive maintenance and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organizationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to meet cost, schedule, and quality goalsInterpret technical specifications, diagrams, and engineering documentationRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience OR Associate Degree with 2+ years of relevant experienceActive TS/SCI Clearance with CI Poly (Mandatory)Hands-on experience in at least one of the following:Engineering assembly or fabricationMachining (CNC, lathe, mill)Electronics or mechanical systemsLab or manufacturing environmentsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed proceduresPreferred QualificationsExperience with photonics or optical systems (training will be provided)Familiarity with DoD lab/workshop environmentsExperience with precision assembly and testingStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsScreening QuestionsDo you have an active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly?Do you have experience with engineering drawings, machining equipment (CNC, lathe, mill), or lab/manufacturing environments?
