Global Category ManagerThe Global Category Manager will proactively manage purchasing activities and provides support to supplier management system. This individual will execute procurement duties in support of Furnace Operations Group, Process & Field Services Division, and priority equipment following procurement department procedures and processes to ensure compliance with corporate policies. This position will work a total of 28 hours per week.Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesDevelop, issue, and analyze Request for Quote/Purchases (RFQ/P) and recommend the best solutionPrepare, issue, and evaluate RFP/RFQs in coordination with Engineering/Operations to develop scope of work and technical specificationAnalyze bids and formulate purchase recommendations for Management reviewConduct competitive, best value, and single/sole source bidsDefine and negotiate Terms and Conditions with suppliersAttends Procurement related meetings and eventsCommunicate effectively with Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, Risk Management, Operations, Suppliers, Distributors, Accounts Payable, and Vendor Maintenance, support to resolve internal and external issues and provide supportMaintain a constant communication with third party suppliersTrack and report KPI's to Management on a quarterly basis through organization's quality management systemFeed supplier database based on previous cost, quality of service, reliability for goods and servicesDemonstrate strong negotiation and contracting skills that build strong supplier relationships and minimize total costIdentify and select suppliers that meet quality, delivery, and cost initiatives in accordance with the strategic sourcing plan through collaboration with Project, Sales and Operations teamsDevelops and maintains awareness of changing commodity related to business trends in the marketplace and the possible impacts to the companyDevelops, recommends, and implements improvements in processes and procedures for department to reduce cost while improving service levels.Assist Accounting in resolving purchase/billing discrepancies, and other departments as necessaryAnalyze spend/data/trends to identify and develop strategic sourcing initiatives which meet the needs of clients and provides solutions/recommendations to the global Category Leads based on research of institutional spend, end-user impact, feedback and market place analysisCollaborate with Global Category Leads to support strategic agreements and any change in vendor contracts to maximize benefit to organizationParticipate in meetings with internal and external customers to understand project requirements and timelinesManage new and/or existing supplier relationships with international, multi-tier or highly technical suppliersSupport onboarding and supplier qualification per company policy and ISO standardsLead and support continuous improvement initiatives that drive improvements in Quality, Delivery and CostDeliver annual cost saving initiatives through execution of sourcing projects and collaboration with internal stakeholdersEnsure compliance with global Procurement PoliciesSupport governance process with review cycles to support Management TeamMust possess a strategic mindset for balancing commercial objectives and assessing risks.Implementation and continuous improvements of standardization of activitiesDevelop thorough knowledge of the Company's ERP toolsInitial and help maintain Requisition Planning Tool to support project executionSupport indirect purchasing activities to support business partners.Apply standards and processes consistently with minimal supervisionWorks as a Team in a fast paced and pressure environmentWilling to travel and collaborate with global strategic suppliers.Identify and qualify new suppliers to diversify the supply chain and mitigate risk when deem necessary.Identify and leverage companywide spending opportunitiesDefine purchasing strategies on its portfolio based on internal stakeholders' needs and business orientations.Set up Technical, Industrial & Purchasing Strategy in order to optimize global portfolio performance and competitivenessEnsure market screening, benchmarking, best practices and innovation.Involve from the early proposal phase to Axens project execution.Establish risk management mapping and relevant mitigation planManage supplier business relationship and promote suppliers' innovation with stakeholdersManage supplier business relationship and promote suppliers' innovation with stakeholdersEnsure supplier performance assessmentManage regular supplier performance and support Top management meetingPerforms other duties as necessary.EducationBS in Engineering, BS in Business or related field or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience may be substituted for degreeWork Experience5-8 Years of technical experience with 5 years in a related management level positionMust have at least 4 years of material/equipment purchasing and expediting experience related to A/E industry, including past purchasing agent experienceAdvanced knowledge of procurement/vendor inspection techniques and requirements, accounting, financial management and business contract law preferred.Working knowledge of Windows based software programs.Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent communicative and interpersonal skills essentialExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power
