Job Description A leading industrial distribution and warehouse operation in Houston is seeking an experienced Outbound Operations Manager to lead shipping, logistics, and outbound warehouse functions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role is responsible for managing daily outbound operations, improving workflow efficiency, overseeing warehouse personnel, and ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately, safely, and on time. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong warehouse operations experience, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage teams, shipping priorities, and operational performance within an industrial distribution environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead all outbound shipping and warehouse operations, including picking, packing, staging, loading, and shipping activitiesSupervise and develop shipping supervisors, leads, and warehouse personnel in a high-volume operationManage daily workflow, staffing, productivity, and scheduling to meet operational demands and shipping deadlinesMonitor operational reports and KPIs to improve productivity, reduce delays, and maximize efficiencyCoordinate closely with Sales, Logistics, Inventory Control, Quality Control, and Customer Service teams regarding priorities, special requests, and shipment timelinesEnsure all outbound orders are processed accurately and shipped on scheduleManage dock operations, trailer flow, loading priorities, and outbound traffic coordinationIdentify process improvement opportunities and implement operational best practicesConduct production meetings, safety meetings, and performance discussions with warehouse staffEnsure compliance with company safety standards, OSHA requirements, and operational proceduresOversee equipment inspections and maintenance coordination for forklifts, cranes, pickers, and warehouse toolsMaintain organized warehouse conditions, clean dock space, and safe working environmentsEnforce lockout/tagout procedures and warehouse safety initiativesTrain, mentor, and evaluate supervisors and team members on operational processes and proceduresAssist with workforce planning, overtime management, staffing allocation, and labor utilizationResolve operational issues quickly while maintaining productivity and customer satisfactionSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and operational excellenceQUALIFICATIONS5+ years of warehouse, shipping, logistics, or outbound operations management experiencePrior experience within industrial distribution, manufacturing or heavy industrial environments strongly preferredExperience managing supervisors and warehouse teams in a fast-paced operationStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsExperience managing shipping schedules, workflow priorities, and operational metricsKnowledge of warehouse safety practices and equipment operationsProficiency with ERP systems, inventory systems, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and warehouse reporting toolsAbility to multitask and manage competing priorities effectivelyBilingual English/Spanish is a plusHigh school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plusPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to work in a warehouse and industrial environmentAbility to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. as neededComfortable working around forklifts, cranes, heavy equipment, and outdoor loading areasKey Skills:Outbound Operations ManagementWarehouse OperationsShipping & ReceivingIndustrial DistributionLogistics CoordinationInventory ControlTeam LeadershipWarehouse SupervisionSupply Chain OperationsOSHA Safety ComplianceForklift OperationsERP SystemsProcess ImprovementShipping LogisticsDock ManagementKPI ManagementWorkforce SchedulingContinuous ImprovementPVF Industry ExperienceOil & Gas DistributionLean OperationsWarehouse Management Systems (WMS)Operational EfficiencyBilingual SpanishHeavy Industrial Environment
