We are committed to excellence in patient care and creating positive healing environments for all who enter our facilities.Role OverviewThe Pharmacist is responsible for the complete and efficient operation of the pharmacy within all legal and accreditation/certification requirements and applicable facility policies, procedures, codes, and standards. This includes managing administrative, pharmaceutical, and professional functions relating to pharmaceutical care provided at the facility. Your ImpactAs a Pharmacist on our team, you'll:Demonstrate compliance with all Joint Commission, OSHA regulations, and state and federal laws and regulatory requirementsMaintain state and federal required records and licenses in order to maintain adequate accountability and controlMaintain adequate control over the requisitioning and dispensing of all drugs and pharmaceutical suppliesMonitor the adherence to pharmacy and facility policies and proceduresPerform pharmacy quality assurance program activitiesDispense medications, chemicals, and pharmaceutical preparations, safely, accurately, and according to state and federal regulationsDemonstrate appropriate judgment in communicating with physicians/licensed practitioners, nurses, and other facility staffPerform monthly inspections of the drug storage areas and complete appropriate records for fileReview all patient medical records and document pertinent information in a timely mannerMonitor patient charts for drug interaction, adverse drug reactions, and all other aspects of appropriate drug therapyEffectively monitor the formulary to enhance the effectiveness of treatment and achieve cost controlsAppropriately fill and label all drug containers issued to service departmentsAppropriately charge patient records for pharmaceuticals used if applicableDispense all narcotic drugs and maintain appropriate inventoriesEnsure proper distribution, procurement, and clinical services functions within the pharmacyInspect all pharmaceutical supplies and services provided by the pharmacyMaintain appropriate antidotes and other emergency drugsProvide counseling and consultation concerning medication to patients, families and facility staff, including providing educational materials, outpatient services, and samples as requiredProvide appropriate pharmacologic and pharmacokinetics in treatment planningConsult (verbally or in writing) when requested or when appropriateAct as a resource for pharmacy/medication related policies and proceduresPromote and participate in patient education (i.e. medication education handouts)Provide drug information effectively to the medical and facility staffMaintain confidentiality of patient information and recordsRequired QualificationsEducation: Graduate from an accredited School of PharmacyExperience: A minimum of three (3) years hospital pharmaceutical experience is recommended; must possess the experience to oversee the provision of medication regimens for the patient populations treated in the facility, including a knowledge of dosage for age-specific populationsLicensure: Currently licensed as a Pharmacist in the applicable stateAdditional Requirements: A working knowledge of JCAHO Standards, OSHA regulations, and state and federal laws and regulatory requirementsSchedulePRNFlexible evening and weekend availabilityWork-Life BalanceSupportive team environmentWork EnvironmentCollaborative approachCommitment to quality careSupportive leadership teamLocationArlington, TXWhy Choose Perimeter Healthcare?We're one of the leading mental and behavioral healthcare providers, offering comprehensivetreatment programs across multiple states and care settings.
