Research Associate

The ideal candidate will be responsible for turning data into actionable insights by recognizing trends and anomalies in multivariate datasets. In order to use these insights for business improvement, this candidate should feel comfortable using their analysis to tell a story.ResponsibilitiesConduct fact-based research and analysisAssist with publication of research commentaries and papersEvaluate new and established research sourcesPrepare materials that summarize data and draw conclusions to support key business discussionsQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceExpertise with SPSS, Excel, and PowerPointPrevious quantitative and qualitative research experienceMolecular Biology: real-time PCR, Sequencing, multiplex endpoint PCR, probe-based hybridization and detectionMicrobiology: handling BSL-II agents and clinical specimens for nucleic acid extractionPerform and evaluate experiments with guidance from supervisor or from written protocolsQualify and maintain automated systems in collaboration with System EngineersApply basic statistical techniques for data analysis Must maintain a laboratory note book according to GDP Assisting in maintaining laboratory supplies and equipmentMay be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assignedBS Degree in biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or related fields with 0-2 years of experienceBackground in molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or microbiology techniquesMust have hands on experience in setting up PCR assaysExperience in maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentationAbility to execute complex experiments with attention to detailsExperience with IVD assay development and Design Control process is a plus.Ability to prioritize and execute various tasksDemonstrates a sense of urgency, strong work ethics and a “can do” attitudeIs curious, inquisitive, innovative, and strives to improve the status quoWillingness to take on challenges and changes as opportunities Collaborates with others in a team-oriented environmentFollows Quality System requirements, safety rules and applicable regulationsEmbraces and leverages diversity of culture and thoughtWorks in a laboratory environment.
