The WorkWe are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Software Engineer to support the design, implementation, hardening, and sustainment of secure mission systems across both CONUS and OCONUS environments.This role requires strong technical expertise in systems engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure security, automation, and DevSecOps practices. The ideal candidate will support secure architecture development, system accreditation activities, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and automation of security controls within CI/CD pipelines.The Cyber Systems Engineer will work closely with software engineers, infrastructure teams, customer representatives, security architects, program leadership, and operational users to ensure mission systems remain secure, resilient, and compliant. Please note: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level. Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related STEM discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.Minimum 9+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, information assurance or relevant experienceExperience securing Linux and/or Windows operating systems in enterprise or mission environments.Experience with Automation tools specifically Ansible and familiarity with deployment automationWorking knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as the following and associated documentation: NIST SP 800-53 & NIST 800-171Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation tools.Experience with scripting languages and automation toolsAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (or higher, as required).DesiredSkillsPossess an approved DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT Level II (CISSP, CAP, etc.)Experience supporting DoD weapon systems, aviation platforms, or classified mission systems.Experience with Containerization technologies to include Kubernetes and OpenshiftExperience with Virtualization platforms/hypervisorsExperience implementing container security and Kubernetes hardening.Familiarity with SIEM Tools deployment and administration specifically ArcSightExperience with Zero Trust architecture and cyber resiliency engineering.Experience supporting environmental handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) & Air-gapped or disconnected systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently in dynamic mission environments.Ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
