Infant Teacher

We currently partner with Matrix providing Early Head Start services to our children.

Duties:
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans (using the Highscope curriculum) and activities for children in the early childhood program.
- Implement patient and kind interactions with children in care.
- Follow licensing guidelines for discipline and child handling.
- Provide a safe, patient and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Provide a positive classroom environment using a calm welcoming tone, focusing more on children's strengths instead of negative behaviors.
- Complete and document (COR) child observation records, parent teacher conferences, and home visits (currently virtual).
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience for all children.
- Mentor other staff when directed and assist director in administrative duties when needed.
- Monitor and assess the progress of each child, providing individualized support and guidance as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's development and any concerns or milestones.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of child development theories and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Ability to create engaging and stimulating learning experiences that promote curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Flexibility to adapt lessons and activities based on the needs and interests of individual children.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage classroom materials, resources, and documentation.
