Machine Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift
MACHINE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
SUMMARY:
Facilitate the upkeep, continuous improvement and repair of machines. Troubleshoot operations problems, monitor the operation of machinery and equipment, perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. Employee must be able to work any of three shifts as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean machines and machine parts, using solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums
Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, hoists
Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas
Install, replace or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures
Reassemble machine after the completion of repair or maintenance work
Remove hardened material from machines or machine parts, place or replace metal, wood, leather, glass, or other lining in machines
Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse in order to maintain machinery and work areas
Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies
Measure, mix, prepare and test chemical solutions used to clean or repair machinery
Record productions, repair, and machine maintenance information in both written and electronic format as required.
Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations
Regular attendance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
One to three years experience in an industrial maintenance position
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or electronic form
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules and other correspondence.
Ability to count and measure equipment
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using basic math skills.
Basic electrical skills required
Knowledge of chemicals
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT:
Must be available and willing to work overtime hours as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs. Must be available and willing to work such weekends and/or holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
