Human Resources DirectorLocation: Waco, TXEmployment Type: Direct Hire | Full-TimeCompensation: $75,000 – $100,000 annuallyRelocation Assistance: Available for qualified candidatesPosition OverviewWheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead human resources operations for a healthcare facility in Waco, Texas. This role is responsible for overseeing all core HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll processing, compliance, training, performance management, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.The ideal candidate will bring strong healthcare HR experience, payroll administration knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources LeadershipOversee day-to-day human resources operations and employee lifecycle activitiesInterpret and communicate HR policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to employees and managementDevelop and implement employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture initiativesServe as a trusted resource for employee relations matters, performance concerns, and policy interpretationMaintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR activitiesRecruitment & Talent AcquisitionCoordinate full-cycle recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and hiring processesConduct reference checks, background screenings, and pre-employment activitiesPartner with department leaders to support workforce planning and staffing initiativesManage onboarding activities and ensure a positive new hire experienceTraining & Employee DevelopmentCoordinate and facilitate employee orientation programsManage annual training requirements, competency assessments, and continuing education initiativesEnsure employees maintain required certifications, licenses, and compliance-related trainingSupport leadership with performance management, employee coaching, and corrective action processesPayroll AdministrationMaintain accurate employee time and attendance recordsProcess payroll, payroll adjustments, PTO payouts, supplemental payments, and payroll correctionsAudit payroll data for accuracy and compliancePrepare payroll reports and overtime analyses for leadership reviewEnsure timely and accurate payroll processing and recordkeepingBenefits AdministrationServe as the primary liaison for employee benefits programsCoordinate benefits enrollment, open enrollment, and employee education activitiesMaintain records and documentation related to health insurance, retirement plans, disability coverage, and other benefit offeringsAssist employees with benefit-related questions and issue resolutionCompliance & Risk ManagementMaintain personnel files and HR records in accordance with applicable laws and regulationsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare regulatory requirementsCoordinate workers' compensation reporting, claims administration, and incident documentationSupport audits, accreditation readiness, and compliance initiativesDevelop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation standardsRequired QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree preferredEquivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be consideredExperienceMinimum 5 years of Human Resources experience requiredMinimum 2 years of employee relations experience preferredMinimum 2 years of payroll processing experience preferredHealthcare industry experience requiredExperience supporting compliance, onboarding, recruitment, and benefits administration functionsRequired Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of human resources practices, employment law, and compliance requirementsExperience with payroll administration and timekeeping systemsExcellent employee relations and conflict resolution skillsStrong verbal and written communication abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and ExcelExceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to confidentialityAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and staffBenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceMultiple Health Plan Options401(k) Retirement Plan with Company MatchTuition ReimbursementPaid Time Off (PTO)Daily Pay OptionShort-Term and Long-Term Disability CoverageLife InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Competitive Compensation PackageAdditional RequirementsAbility to obtain and maintain CPR certificationAbility to complete required behavioral health de-escalation trainingSuccessful completion of background screening and employment requirementsWhy Work With Wheeler Staffing Partners?Wheeler Staffing Partners connects talented professionals with leading organizations nationwide.
