Tech - Histology

Job Description Job Summary: Seeking an experienced Histology Tech to perform routine and complex histologic procedures on a magnet, teaching hospital campus. The role involves embedding, microtomy, staining, immunohistochemistry, and quality control within a fast-paced laboratory environment. Responsibilities: Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination through embedding, microtomy, and staining techniques. Perform routine and special stains, including immunohistochemistry, adhering to established protocols. Conduct quality control on slides and identify issues impacting diagnostic accuracy. Maintain, calibrate, and document the proper functioning of laboratory instruments and equipment. Ensure compliance with laboratory policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards. Record and communicate test observations and troubleshoot problems as needed. Qualifications: Possess 3-5 years of full-time histology laboratory experience. Demonstrate proficiency in embedding and microtomy procedures. Hold HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Prefer candidates with a Bachelor's degree in histotechnology, biology, or related scientific discipline. Have BLS certification issued by a recognized provider.
