Mainframe Programmer

Location: Wilmington, DEWork Model: OnsiteExperience: 7+ years preferredEmployment: ContractWe are hiring an experienced Mainframe Developer to support a large-scale banking and financial services technology environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, enhance, and maintain applications on the IBM Mainframe platform.Develop and support programs using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.Analyze existing applications and implement enhancements based on business requirements.Develop and optimize complex DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, and batch processes.Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.Work with business analysts, QA teams, and distributed technology teams throughout the SDLC.Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.Ensure applications meet enterprise banking standards for performance, security, and reliability.Required SkillsStrong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICSExperience with VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and mainframe batch processingStrong knowledge of DB2 SQLExperience with debugging and performance tuning of mainframe applicationsFamiliarity with tools such as Endevor, Changeman, File-AID, Xpediter/Abend-AIDExperience working in Agile/Scrum environmentsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skillsPreferredPrevious experience supporting banking, payments, cards, lending, or financial services applicationsExperience integrating mainframe applications with APIs or distributed systemsKnowledge of enterprise DevOps and CI/CD practices for mainframe environments
