Opportunity
The Manager, Marketing Content and Copy plays a key role in bringing the voice of DeVry to life in key channels. With a passion for storytelling and a keen understanding of marketing and communication strategies, this manager must combine their highly capable writing skills to develop compelling information to inspire, support and celebrate our students and potential students along their education and learning journeys. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crafting compelling marketing content and copy across various channels, including email, social media, web, advertising and print. This role requires a creative thinker who can deliver clear, persuasive, and on-brand messaging that drives engagement and conversion. Highly capable writing skills along with an understanding of SEO and marketing copy are essential to success in this role.
Responsibilities
Develops engaging and persuasive copy for a variety of marketing materials, including but not limited to email campaigns, social media posts, website content, blog articles, brochures, and advertisements.
Collaborates with the marketing team to create and refine content that aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
Conducts thorough research to understand target audiences, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to create relevant and impactful copy.
Embraces brand voice, tone, look and feel and can replicate it across messaging and ensures consistency across all marketing channels.
Optimizes copy for SEO and other digital marketing best practices.
Edits and proofreads copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and grammatical correctness.
Works closely with designers, marketers, website managers and other stakeholders to develop cohesive and effective marketing content and copy for campaigns and key initiatives.
Builds and develops content that supports SEO, site visits, inquiries and student enrollment, interpreting DeVry’s unique selling points concisely, and appropriately conveying them in all written touchpoints.
Develop program-specific content to support the enrollment initiatives of the university, with hyper-vigilant attention to the university mission.
Effectively engages and interviews subject matter experts to gain insight and understanding on key programs, initiatives and efforts and translates that knowledge to the written work.
Works with internal partners to develop academically accurate and regulatory responsible communications to support the learner journey and enrollment initiatives.
Fosters and maintains positive working relationships with all colleagues.
Manages multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, english, journalism, or a related field.
Proven copywriter experience, preferably for a marketing or advertising organization.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Familiarity with SEO principles and digital marketing best practices.
Ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and platforms.
Understands the education landscape and knows how to write for this audience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with marketing automation tools and email marketing platforms.
Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML. Experience or knowledge of Agile project management is a plus, although not required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook).
