Packaging Boxing Line Operator

Position Title: General Laborer Level 1 – Packaging Boxer Directly Reports to: Packaging Lead, Backup Lead Direct Reports: N/A Effective Date: August 4, 2025. Work Hours: 10 to 12 hours per day. Rate: Starting at $16 plus $1 extra for freezer work. Position Objective:To produce a high-quality food safe product while maintaining peak efficiency and following standard safety procedures. Responsibilities include: Ability to understand English. Read and write English. Ability to count and do basic math; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in English or Spanish Basic computer skills Ability to lift 5-50 pounds repeatedly. Ability to stand and walk throughout most of the production shift. Ability to push or pull heavier stacks of finished products. Ability to work in colder environments at times (if applicable) Maintain proper GMP’s and housekeeping (training provided) Perform all other tasks as needed or assigned. Basic Electric and manual pallet jack knowledge (training provided) Job duties may include but are not limited to: Operating equipment (training provided) Maintaining quality control (training provided) Stack cases on pallets and shrink wrapping. Stacking baskets of finished product and moving stacks Pulling and staging products from freezer Giving some direction to other employees as necessary (if applicable) Work Conditions Warm in the summertime Moderate to heavy repeated lifting and pushing. Other repetitive movements During Production workday: i. Power up labeling equipment and all its components and check for full functionality. Power off and disconnect every component completely at the end of the shift. 1. Ability to fully navigate the label software and responsible for sending correct case labels to the case label printer from computer software. 2. Responsible for replacing ink and case labels on label printer. ii. Power up box taper and all its components and check for full functionality. Power off and disconnect every component completely at the end of the shift or during a line production break. 1. Responsible to replace box taper tape. iii. Check pallet tags set for the day’s production. iv. Check freezer inventory to pull any product on stock that matches any of the SKU’s written on Pallet Tags set for production. v. Combine fresh and frozen products (either in cases or bags that need to be cased, make sure that the product pulled from the freezer matches the fresh SKU description set on the Pallet Tag. vi. Transfer all shipping information (lot codes, SKU descriptions, case quantities etc.) to Shipping Log. 1. Accurately document finished product. vii. Palletize cases making sure that case labels are visible and accurate. viii. Once the pallet has been fully staged hand wrap pallet, place the correct Pallet Tag sticker, DO NOT DOUBLE STACK sticker and storage area sticker (Quaker Bakery Brands sticker) on the upper front of the pallet. ix. Before storing finished pallet, write the amount of finished fresh cases (produced during the day’s production) on the Fresh Yield Sheet, do not include cases pulled from freezer on this sheet. x. Ask Packaging Lead where the finished pallet should be stored (Loading Dock or Freezer). xi. When the order is completed and there are leftover cases, place the cases in baskets or on a pallet (depending on the quantity left over) place the leftover product inside the freezer for future use. xii. Write on the Product Inventory Sheet the left-over cases that are going be stored in the freezer for future use, pay close attention when you write Lot Codes on the paperwork. Sweep and maintain work area clean throughout the whole shift. Freezer work: i. Pull products out of the freezer for orders late afternoon, boxer helps with this designation. ii. Setting orders up. iii. Accurately document finished product. Prepare/Set up route orders: Verifying product set up matches Purchase Order description, and the correct quantities needed per order. End of the day work: i. Completely clean your work area.
