Patrick M. Villano Elementary School is seeking a dynamic and engaging Part-Time Spanish Teacher to provide high-quality world language instruction to students in grades 4 through 6. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, promote cultural awareness, and support students in developing foundational Spanish language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, age-appropriate Spanish language instruction aligned with district and state standards
Develop and implement lesson plans that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding
Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including interactive activities, technology, and differentiated instruction
Assess student progress regularly and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration
Create a classroom environment that encourages participation, respect, and enthusiasm for learning a new language
Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as appropriate
Qualifications
Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate (Spanish or World Language preferred)
Alternate Route candidates are encouraged to apply
Experience teaching elementary-aged students (preferred)
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Knowledge of best practices in language instruction and student engagement
Ability to integrate cultural components into language lessons
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
