This includes oversight of student leadership and organizations, student activities, community service opportunities, recreational activities and emerging leader program. The Director of Student Life plays a vital role in fostering student engagement, leadership growth, and a vibrant campus experience. This position requires flexibility in schedule, and often requires weekend and evening hours. This is a full-time position that reports to the LSCPA's Student Services Department.Duties/ResponsibilitiesAdvises the Student Government Association and faculty sponsorOversees student organizations and faculty sponsorsPlans and supports (details) campus programmingPlans and oversees campus and community parade participation and related eventsProvides leadership for recreational and wellness initiativesLeads and oversees student government programmingConducts and participates in leadership training activitiesOversees community service initiativesPartners with campus departments to plan and support events and student engagementServes on committees for special eventsDevelops partnerships to support campus-wide programming and wellness initiativesCoordinates the Emerging Leaders ProgramProvides oversight and supervision of the food pantry and supply closetProvides training for student leadersAssists with the administration of the student conduct processSupervises staff, student workers, and volunteers within Student LifeDevelop and manage the Student Life budgetEvaluates programs and uses data to improve student engagementReview, updates, and maintains the Student Handbook and Student Organization GuideComply with campus policies and proceduresOther related duties, as assignedMinimum/Preferred QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or universityTwo (2) years' experience on jobs leading to this, or similar jobsValid driver's licenseSupplemental InformationPhysical Requirements:This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on and off campus; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.Lamar State College Port Arthur is an E-Verify Employer.This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
