EHS Coordinator

*EHS Coordinator* *Location:* Pooler, GA *Pay:* $30.00/hour *Schedule:* Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM *Status:* Contract-to-Hire *Position Overview* We are seeking an EHS Coordinator to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment in Pooler, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals early in their EHS careers who are looking to gain hands-on experience and grow within the field. Candidates with a degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field are encouraged to apply. Equivalent manufacturing experience will also be considered. *Responsibilities* * Coordinate employee safety engagement activities and reinforce safe work practices throughout the facility. * Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to identify potential hazards and promote a proactive safety culture. * Conduct comprehensive quarterly facility safety audits. * Coordinate internal and external audits, communicate audit scope and expectations, and support teams throughout the audit process. * Participate in and eventually lead EHS committee activities. * Support the development and implementation of new safety initiatives and improvement projects. * Deliver and track EHS training programs covering topics such as PPE, hazardous materials, emergency response, machine guarding, fire prevention, electrical safety, and material handling. * Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. * Support environmental compliance programs, including waste management, disposal practices, and regulatory reporting requirements. * Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. *Qualifications* *Required* * Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Chemistry, or a related field; OR * Equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment. * Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. *Preferred* * Internship, co-op, or professional experience in manufacturing, environmental compliance, or workplace safety. * OSHA, EPA, BCSP, Safety Council, or other EHS-related certifications. * Ability to obtain and maintain RCRA/DOT certification for waste management. * Experience participating in audits, inspections, or safety committees. *What We're Looking For* * A motivated individual eager to learn and develop a career in Environmental Health & Safety. * Someone who enjoys engaging with employees and promoting safe workplace practices. * A proactive team player with strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement. * An individual capable of balancing multiple projects while maintaining compliance and operational excellence.
