Primary Job Title: Senior Process EngineerLocation: Richland, WAOnsite Flexibility: OnsiteContract Details:Position Type: ContractDuration: 6 monthsPay Rate: $70.00 $77.00 / Hour (USD)Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel to support projectsJob Summary: Our Federal group is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to support our growing work in the DOE and DOD. The successful candidate will have experience with nuclear system design, working with Safety Class or Safety Significant systems and working under a NQA-1 program, or have experience with energetics or explosives system design (synthesis, handling, mixing, and charging). The position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria, and must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.Key Responsibilities:Have experience with nuclear system design, working with Safety Class or Safety Significant systems and working under a NQA-1 program, or have experience with energetics or explosives system design (synthesis, handling, mixing, and charging)Have experience applying nuclear, chemical or explosive-safety requirements into designsHave experience in project execution, from initial process studies, support of project cost estimates, through detailed design into EPC project executionHave a clear understanding of the steps of project development (e.g. front-end engineering design) and level of detail required in each step of project developmentIndependently develop PFDs, P&IDs, complete equipment sizing and specifications, develop instrument process data and specificationsDemonstrate leadership ability at the discipline level on a multidiscipline project teamDevelop process models with commercially available programs (Aspen, Hysys, ChemCAD) or by building custom models in ExcelSupport business development efforts by developing engineering estimates and supporting proposal developmentRequired Experience:Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 7 years process engineering experience, ORBachelor Degree in Chemical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 7 years process engineering experience, ORMaster Degree in Chemical Engineering and 6 years process engineering experienceExperience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team membersAbility to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environmentAbility to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specificationsAbility to travelNice-to-Have Experience:EPC project experience preferredRequired Skills:Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and proceduresStrong knowledge of process design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE)Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environmentStrong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skillsPreferred Skills:Strong computer skills include process simulation software (i.e. Hysys and/or Aspen, HTRI)Professional Engineer (PE) LicenseEducation Requirements:Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program, OR Bachelor Degree in Chemical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, OR Master Degree in Chemical EngineeringMust be able to obtain and maintain a DoE or DoD Security ClearanceWork Environment / Physical Requirements:Position may require travel to support projects, estimated at 25%Benefits:Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout the Client: Infrastructure Engineering Firm We design and build essential infrastructure for cities.
