Executive Summary We are seeking a highly strategic, tech-forward Controller to lead the financial operations of a sophisticated, multi-generational family office undergoing continued growth. This role manages a team of four accounting professionals and is responsible for safeguarding the financial integrity of a diverse and complex portfolio, including trusts, foundations, lifestyle assets (e.g., residences and aircraft), public and private investment vehicles, and select real estate accounting activities.Technology & Systems Leadership This position requires a modern financial leader who leverages technology to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and insight:Systems Ownership: Serve as the primary financial systems lead, utilizing the Archway Group platform for accounting and investment data aggregation.Advanced Reporting & Analytics: Design and implement robust, dynamic reporting and analytics frameworks to support decision-making.Automation & API Enablement: Actively maintain and expand existing APIs to automate recurring processes and streamline workflows.Tax, Estate & Investment StrategyPlay a hands-on role in high-level financial management, estate planning, and tax strategy for the family, affiliated businesses, and foundations.Serve as the primary liaison with Deloitte’s tax team to ensure timely filings, implement advanced tax strategies, and manage federal and state audits.Oversee financial administration of private equity investments, including subscription agreements, capital calls, and distributions.Develop a deep understanding of complex trust arrangements, multi-tier entity structures, and intercompany service agreements.Operational & Team OversightLead and manage the daily operations of the accounting team, including treasury management, family banking, and corporate credit card administration.Drive the monthly and annual close processes, delivering consolidated cash forecasts, annual operating budgets, and actual-to-forecast analyses.Maintain foundation accounting records, manage cash and contribution needs, and coordinate annual foundation audits.Process construction draw requests for private family residences under development and coordinate with lenders and external partners as needed.
