Construction Accountant

Location: Fully on-site in Danbury, CTSalary: $120-140kCandidates must have experience with Sage 300 to be considered*Responsibilities Of Construction Accountant Manage day-to-day accounting operations for construction projects Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and job cost reports Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Track project expenses and monitor budget performance Prepare monthly reports and support month-end close End-to-end payroll processing, including certified payroll and filing of quarterly tax returns and year-end W-2s Partner with project managers to ensure financial accuracy Assist with audits and maintain internal controls Manage retainage, lien waivers, and contract compliancePreferred Experience Of Construction Accountant Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing and revenue recognition Experience with AP/AR and job cost analysis Payroll experience, including certified payroll (preferred) Experience with month-end close processes, including monthly sales and use tax filings Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Must have experience with Sage 300 construction accounting systems and Sage Paperless Strong knowledge of AIA billing and contract documentation Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting Construction industry experience preferred
