Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 5-9pm, Saturday from 11am-6pm, and Sunday from 11am-5pm*Evening Facility Supervisors are essential to evening and weekend operations, ensuring smooth facility function and excellent customer service in the absence of full-time staff. They supervise part-time team members, resolve customer conflicts, troubleshoot room setups and scheduling issues, and communicate key concerns to full-time staff for follow-up. Evening Facility Supervisors support staff with difficult customer interactions, and policy enforcement, including addressing damage, theft, or non-compliance to facility rules.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAct as the on-site supervisor for all part-time staff across various facility departments during evening and weekend shiftsProvide leadership and guidance to ensure part-time staff are supported and actively engaged in their responsibilitiesPerform frequent walkthroughs of the facility to monitor safety, customer behavior, and staff productivityDe-escalate customer issues by intervening in conflicts, answering challenging questions, and offering clear, respectful resolutionsTroubleshoot operational challenges including room setups, schedule conflicts, equipment issues, or staffing concernsManage and respond to situations involving rule violations, theft, damage, or disruptive behavior, taking appropriate and timely actionHandle administrative tasks such as providing change for tills and ensuring accurate communication of issues to full-time leadership for follow-upUphold and model community center policies, maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all.Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance.Education and ExperienceAny combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and at least three (3) years of experience in customer service, facility operations, recreation, or a related field, including one (1) year in a supervisory or lead role.Experience working in a public-facing facility such as a community center, recreation facility, or similar environment is strongly preferred.License and Other Requirements:Successful completion of employment reference and background check.Valid Washington State driver's license.Valid first aid and CPR certificate issued by an authorized agency (obtained within 30 days of hire).Knowledge and AbilitiesKnowledge of:Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a customer service or recreation facility setting.Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.Ability to make confident decisions under pressure and communicate clearly with staff and guests.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Comfort navigating dynamic environments with a wide range of customer needs.Ability to work independently during non-standard hours with limited oversight.Technical aspects of facilities maintenance.Ability to:Lead, motivate, and support part-time staff across multiple facility areas during evenings and weekends.Provide clear direction and guidance to team members in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.Promote a positive, inclusive, and professional work environment.De-escalate conflicts and resolve customer concerns with tact and professionalism.Monitor staff performance and provide real-time feedback and support.Troubleshoot operational challenges, including room setups, scheduling conflicts, and minor facility issues.Enforce facility policies and take appropriate action in response to rule violations, damage, theft, or unsafe behavior.Communicate effectively with full-time staff to report issues and ensure appropriate follow-up.Remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure or in emergency situations.Perform basic administrative tasks such as handling change for tills and completing shift reports.Navigate the facility independently and maintain a strong, visible presence throughout the building.Work evenings and weekends with limited supervision.Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, patrons, and community members from diverse backgrounds.Uphold the values of safety, teamwork, customer service, and accountability.Physically move through and monitor the full facility for extended periods of time.Environmental Conditions/ Physical Effort:Work is performed in both office and field environments in and around the Community Center. Employee may be exposed to noise from basic office equipment operation, and to potentially hazardous materials and equipment, fumes or vapors. Walking over rough terrain and some climbing may be required. Perform medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
