Job Title: Legal AssistantLocation (city, state): Fairfax, VA (Fully on-site)Industry: Law FirmType: Contract-to-hirePay: $24 - $27hr / hour (depending on experience)Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pmAbout Our Client:Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant specializing in Estates and Trusts to support attorneys in all aspects of estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters. The ideal candidate has strong administrative skills, a solid understanding of legal documentation, and the ability to manage sensitive client information with professionalism and discretion.Job Description:The Legal Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal teams, ensuring efficient operation of legal processes. This role involves preparing legal documents, conducting research, managing schedules, and maintaining legal files with accuracy and confidentiality.Key Responsibilities:Draft, format, and proofread estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directivesAssist with probate and trust administration, including preparation and filing of court documentsMaintain and organize client files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accuracy and confidentialityCommunicate with clients, financial institutions, and courts regarding case status and documentation requirementsSchedule client meetings, attorney calendars, and court datesConduct basic legal research related to estate and trust mattersTrack deadlines and ensure timely filings and follow-upsAssist in asset inventory, beneficiary designations, and distribution documentationPrepare correspondence and maintain professional communication on behalf of attorneysQualifications:4-5+ years of Legal Assistant experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency in LexisNexis and Westlaw preferredHighly polished, organized, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.Bachelor's degree preferred (equivalent experience may compensate).Perks:Opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic environment.Work in a collaborative, professional setting.Benefit Information: Vision, Dental, Medical, 401(k)Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
