Material Handler
Job SummaryThe Material Handler is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and inventory operations to ensure accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and products. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production through work order kitting, and ensuring timely shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Assist with the development of and maintain production schedules to meet internal customer demands and production targetsCoordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materialsMonitor production progress and make adjustments as necessary to stay on scheduleAnalyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvementsCollaborate with engineering and quality assurance to resolve production issuesPrepare weekly and monthly production reports across several concurrent projectsFacilitate communication between engineering, procurement, and production teamsParticipate in cross-functional team meetings to discuss production goals and strategiesOperate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required. Assist with receiving inspections and non-conforming material segregation when necessary. Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and inventory control processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse and inventory operations. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control preferred. Experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or production environment preferred. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as Deltek Costpoint or similar inventory systems preferred. Ability to read work orders, packing slips, shipping documents, and inventory reports. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred. Preferred Skills and Experience Understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse best practices. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
