Job Title: Mechanical Engineer 2Location: Lafayette, IN 47905 (On-Site)Duration: 12 Months+Daily Schedule: Standard business hours with occasional schedule flexibility to support meetings across time zones. Limited overtime may be required during high-priority issue escalation periods.Job Description:Position’s Contributions to Work Group:- Continuous Product Improvement coordination and execution- Overall project coordination and progress- Helping to ensure customer success by correcting product problemsWhy this Role?Exposure to leadership from a continuous product improvement perspective with an ability to impact the team in an extremely positive way with a strong customer focus.Typical Day or Week in the RoleTypical task breakdown:- Various associated with general project progress. Can be anything from BOM management all the way to presenting stakeholder updates at various review meetings.Interaction with team:- Leading team meetings as necessary, updating project plans and status reports.Team Structure- CPI coordinator supports all G3500 products. The team has multiple product-centric team leads that will require support.Work environment:- OfficeCandidate RequirementsEducation & Experience Required:- Years of experience: 2-4 years- Degree requirement: Engineering or Engineering Technology; Bachelor’s required; Master’s considered- Do you accept internships as job experience: Yes; 2 years minimumTop 3 Skills• Strong personal initiative• Organization / time management skills• CommunicationAdditional Technical Skills(Required)- Basic understanding of gas and/or diesel engine operation- Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency(Desired)- Strong data analysis skills- Strong communication skills- Strong organizational and time management skills- Ability to work well independently / collaborative member of a cross functional team- Large gas and/or diesel troubleshooting skills- Understanding of **** engine product configuration- **** 6 Sigma training- Familiarity with CSA, EU and API standards- Proficiency working with computers and computer systems. Software programs used frequently include, but not limited to: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Creo, Team CenterSoft Skills(Required)- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision- Professional written and verbal communication skills(Desired)- Comfort interacting with senior engineers and leadership- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
