An exciting opportunity is available for 13 Bus Aides to support students during transportation for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position involves working closely with students who require additional assistance and supervision while traveling to and from school, with a strong likelihood of renewal for the Extended School Year (ESY) and the 2026-2027 school year.Location: Philadelphia, PA and nearby surrounding areas, including Aston, Morrisville, Plymouth Meeting, Ardmore, Radnor, Berwyn, Fort Washington, and Chester.Schedule:3 hours per day, 15 hours per week totalMorning shift: Approximately 6:30 AM - 8:30 AMAfternoon shift: Approximately 2:30 PM - 4:30 PMThe exact schedule depends on the assigned siteAssignment dates: ASAP through June 12, 2026, with availability needed for ESY and the next school yearRole and Responsibilities:Provide 1:1 or 2:1 aide support to students on the busAccompany the driver to pick up the student from home and ensure safe transport to/from schoolAssist with student supervision, safety, and behavioral support during transportUtilize verbal de-escalation techniques, especially important for students with special needsPreferably have experience riding the bus with assigned students to ensure familiarity and comfortQualifications:Experience working with children with special needsStrong verbal de-escalation skillsPrevious experience as a paraprofessional or certified nursing assistant is welcomeAbility to work closely with students and bus drivers in a timely and responsible mannerCommitment to supporting student safety and well-being during transitSupport meaningful student experiences every day by ensuring safe and compassionate transportation.
