We are seeking a Contract to Hire Accounting Manager - Capitation & Claims to lead critical healthcare accounting functions. This role owns the insight behind capitation and claims accounting, supporting financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision making.ResponsibilitiesLead all day‐to‐day accounting operations for capitation and claims, including month‐end close, P&L review, and balance sheet integrityInterpret and analyze provider contracts and payment methodologies (global risk, shared risk, capitation structures)Monitor capitation rate changes and financial variances, providing clear explanations vs. budget and forecastDeliver financial analysis and insights to cross‐functional stakeholders using large, complex datasetsOversee medical cost accruals, including IBNR and related estimatesEnsure data integrity and reconciliation across financial systems, data warehouses, and reporting cubesReview and manage provider shared risk pools, incentives, and other payment programsSupport regulatory reporting, audits, and financial filings (CMS, DHCS, GAAP audits)Partner with internal teams to support annual bid processes and financial modelingQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of managed care / healthcare accounting experienceDeep expertise in:Capitation accountingMedical claims & IBNRProvider risk‐sharing arrangements and incentivesExperience in Medicare Advantage preferredBackground in health plans, provider networks, or integrated delivery systemsExposure to healthcare core admin systems (claims/capitation modules)EEO Notice Vaco by Highspring is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex (includes pregnancy or related conditions), religion or creed, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, status as a veteran, union membership, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristics as required by federal, state or local law.Vaco by Highspring and its parents, affiliates, and subsidiaries are committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals.
