As an Electronics Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for creating the next generation of devices that are pioneering healthcare education through wearable technology. You will contribute PCB design and embedded software development to help create fully-developed products that will be used by future healthcare professionals.About the Company:Avkin is an innovative, trend setting company raising the bar to reduce patient suffering in healthcare through excellence in simulation education. We are the most ambitious company in the industry looking to disrupt the status quo (manikin training).Responsibilities: Electronics design and development for wearable devices through circuit board design and microcontroller programmingSchematic and PCB design in Fusion 360 for use in embedded systems devices in accordance with best practices (communication protocols, isolation of analog and digital signals, etc.)Embedded software development, including microcontroller firmware development in C for use with sensors, motor controls, etc.Present concepts, designs, and ideas to relevant team members for brainstorming and feedbackDevelop and test prototypes to learn quickly and make insightful recommendations based on findingsCoordinate with other engineers and designers to ensure accurate communication and efficiency in the design and prototyping phasesEnsure current and future designs comply with regulatory requirementsCreate effective documentation for hardware and software developmentModify existing designs to meet customer expectations and improve manufacturabilityTest refined prototypes with customers and modify designs based on feedbackWork closely with in-house manufacturing team to successfully navigate new product rollout and product improvementsEffectively manage time while working on multiple projects simultaneouslyJob requirements: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field1-3 years of relevant work experience, co-ops and internships includedExperience with embedded C programming and development (ARM based microcontrollers, microcontroller architecture, serial communication, sensors, motor controls, etc.)Experience with schematic layout and PCB design (Fusion 360, Eagle, Altium, etc.)Hands on experience with circuit prototyping and troubleshootingKnowledge of SMT soldering and reflow techniquesFamiliarity with common testing equipment such as power supplies, power profilers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers, etc.Experience working with wearable and battery powered design constraints is a plusUnderstanding of regulatory requirements and EMC is a plusUnderstanding of RTOS systems is a plusAvkin offers the following Benefits:Medical Insurance Short Term Disability401 KDental, Vision, Accident, and Hospitalization Insurance (optional)Paid Time OffSick LeaveMore about us! https://avkin.com/Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
