Senior Technician, Microbiology Lab

Your Opportunity as a Senior Technician, Microbiology LabThis role supports the plants and R&D by performing microbiological testing and reporting resultsLocation: Orrville, OH (close proximity to Akron and Cleveland)Work Arrangements: 100% on-siteTypical schedule: 8-hour workdays, Monday - Friday between 7am - 6pm utilizing company flex hours while meeting business needsAbility to work a minimum of 1 assigned company holiday per year (could be 1-3 days during holiday week for 1-2 hours each day and/or if a holiday falls on a Sunday if there is a rotation)Flexibility to work weekend work hours if there is a rotationIn this Role You Will:Perform routine microbiological testing & report resultsMaintain International Organization for Standardization (ISO)/International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 17025 accredited methodsFollow good laboratory and safety practicesPrepare laboratory reagentsMaintain laboratory supplies, equipment records, and methodsMaintain and calibrate lab equipmentPerform general laboratory upkeep, inventory management, and ordering suppliesSupport laboratory projectsCommunicate with customers to coordinate testing related to microbiological testing proceduresProvide support to the Analytical Lab as neededWhat We are Looking For:Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degreeGeneral laboratory experienceStrong communication skills (written and oral)and customer service communication skillsGood computer skills, including familiarity with a Laboratory Management System (LMS)Strong time management skills with attention to detailHighly adaptable and flexible to a dynamic environmentSelf-motivated, high-energy level, positive attitudeAbility to stand for extended periods of time and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.Ability to work independentlyAdditional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:Microbiology, Food Science, or related degreeStrong chemistry, mathematics, and / or statistical backgroundMicrobiological Laboratory experience or trainingFamiliarity with aseptic techniqueBiosafety Level 2 laboratory experienceTheRight Placefor YouWe are bold, kind, strive to do the right thing, we play to win, and we believe in a strong community that thrives together.
