Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Menasha, WI

A school district in Wisconsin is seeking a dedicated professional to support elementary students as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing and American Sign Language Interpreter. This contract position will be onsite and requires working closely with a diverse caseload of young learners throughout the school day.Key Responsibilities:Provide specialized instruction and interpretation services for elementary students who are deaf or hard of hearingFacilitate communication and academic support in American Sign LanguageCollaborate with teachers and staff to enhance student learning and inclusionAssist students in developing their reading, writing, and math skills aligned with readiness standardsQualifications:Completion of at least two years of post-secondary education equivalent to 48 semester hours, OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution, OR demonstrated proficiency through a rigorous state or local academic assessmentValid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Educational Interpreter LicenseExperience working with DHH students in an educational setting is highly desirableStrong knowledge of American Sign Language and instructional techniques for deaf or hard of hearing learnersPosition Details:Location: Elementary school in Menasha, WIContract duration: Current school year through May 29, 2026Hours: 37.5 hours per weekOnsite work environmentThis role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the educational journey of children requiring specialized communication support.
