Financial Controller
A growing interior design firm based in Buck County is looking to bring a Controller on to their team. This firm specializes commercial design projects that blend creativity, functionality, and exceptional client service. The team manages projects from concept through installation, coordinating designers, vendors, and contractors to deliver thoughtful, high-quality spaces.Position SummaryThe Controller will oversee all accounting and financial management activities for the firm, including financial reporting, budgeting, project accounting, and internal controls. This role will work closely with company leadership and the design/project teams to ensure financial accuracy, profitability tracking, and efficient processes across projects and operations.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial ManagementOversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash managementPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsMaintain and improve internal accounting controls and financial proceduresManage the company’s budgeting and forecasting processesProject & Job Cost AccountingTrack project budgets, job costing, and profitability across multiple design projectsWork closely with project managers and designers to monitor project financial performanceOversee vendor purchasing, purchase orders, and inventory related to furnishings and materialsReporting & Strategic SupportProvide financial analysis and reporting to the leadership teamDevelop KPIs and dashboards related to project margins, revenue, and expensesSupport pricing strategies and financial planning for future growthCompliance & AdministrationManage tax filings, external audits, and regulatory complianceCoordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, and financial institutionsOversee insurance, banking relationships, and financial risk managementQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5–10+ years of accounting/finance experience, including leadership responsibilitiesExperience with project-based accounting (design, construction, architecture, or similar industries preferred)Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standardsProficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar)Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilityExcellent organizational and communication skillsExperience supporting a growing small-to-mid-sized companyView the full list of our open positions here: Main Line Search Job Openings
