Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care across our healthcare facilities. This pivotal role involves overseeing nursing operations, managing staff, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a compassionate environment that prioritizes resident well-being. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, extensive nursing knowledge, and a passion for enhancing quality of life for residents through innovative care strategies. We are offering a $10,000 bonus that will be paid over a year of employment. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all nursing services, ensuring high standards of resident care and safety. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct caregivers, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment. Develop, review, and update individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet medical needs and regulatory requirements. Oversee documentation review, medical records management, and adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect resident privacy. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care strategies that support residents’ physical, emotional, and psychological health. Ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines, state licensing requirements, and healthcare policies such as EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Monitor shift management to optimize staffing levels, improve workflow efficiency, and ensure continuous quality improvement in nursing services. Lead efforts in training staff on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and documentation procedures to uphold clinical excellence. Oversee the management of MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments to support accurate reimbursement and quality metrics. Maintain effective communication with residents’ families regarding care plans and medical updates while ensuring documentation accuracy. Requirements Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services or hospice care environments. Extensive nursing management experience with supervising teams in acute care settings or long-term care facilities. Strong knowledge of nursing administration principles combined with leadership capabilities to inspire teams toward excellence. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for medical records management and documentation review processes. Deep understanding of Medicare regulations, HIPAA compliance standards, medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy related to elder care. Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs while managing shift operations effectively. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and engaging with residents’ families transparently.
