In an era of unprecedented disruption, OX is built to transform.Position DescriptionThe Freelance User Experience Architect will be a highly motivated, creative, and versatile individual with experience designing intuitive workflows. They will have deep experience with interaction design, is fluent in web and mobile information architecture, and will collaborate with designers, developers, and digital strategists to translate functional objectives into detailed specifications. The candidate has a thorough understanding of his/her end users, a passion for user-centered design, and a critical eye toward clear visuals and text.Responsibilities & DutiesWorks cross-functionally to produce use cases, customer flows, navigation systems, sitemaps, heuristic reviews, taxonomy, functional requirements, and proof-of-conceptsEvangelizes user-centered product design within the organization and works to incorporate user-centered approaches into the organization’s product development processParticipate in all aspects of discovery, concepting, design, and development; providing a user experience point of viewAnalyze business needs and produce detailed wireframes that meet product objectivesBring an eye for information design and a knowledge of information architecture to create experiences that are both data-rich and elegantApproach complex problems with empathy, understanding the users’ immediate frustrations, hopes, fears, abilities, limitations, and goalsCoordinate on ensuring we meet requirements for accessibilityOther duties as assigned by your managerRequired Experience3-5+ years of in-depth knowledge and experience of Interaction Design and Service Design across varied users, business problems, and devicesAbility to learn new software quickly; experience with Google Suite, Figma, Sketch, InVision, Axure, Confluence, Validately, JIRA, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite is a plusExpertise with driving and applying user-centered design processesAccustomed to working collaboratively with customers and cross-functional team membersBeginning to develop an area of specialization within the greater design landscape and willingness to develop a deeper understanding of the following but not limited to: User Research and Strategy, Visual Design, Service Design, and Content DevelopmentExpertise creating interaction models, flows, and wireframesAdvanced knowledge of rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototypesExperience working in an agile environmentPassion and commitment for great designLocation Chicago / Remote
