For a complete position description, click Rate of pay is $18.00/hour.This position will be assigned to the Sheriff's Office.Essential FunctionsThis job description indicates the normal type and level of work expected of the incumbent. Incumbent may be asked to perform other duties as apparent or assigned.Administrative Services Office: Learn about the basic functions of County government, including, specifically, central service functions such as County Board operations, human resources, finance, and organizational development. Assist with preservation of records, continuous improvement efforts, classification and compensation study, and other miscellaneous projects.Community & Veterans Services Office: Learn about health and human services, child/adult protection, child support establishment and collection, Public Health Nurse (PHN) family home visiting, and care coordination for elderly populations. Assist with documentation of case plans and client visits/targeted case management functions in the agency's record management system.Land Services Office: Learn about the functions of various offices, including the Auditor-Treasurer, Recorder, and Zoning. Assist with the preservation of historical records, permits, and real estate transactions, and provide support for elections.Public Works: Learn about the functions of a County Public Works Department, including engineering, construction, and maintenance. Assist with project administration, data gathering and analysis, preservation of historical records, and various maintenance projects.Minimum QualificationsPlanned or current participation in a post-secondary program. Must be 18 years of age by date of employment.A valid Class D driver's license is required.An interest in local government and public service with the ability to work independently is preferred.Selection ProcessTop candidates will be invited to participate in oral interviews.The following is intended to be a general overview of benefits provided for full-time positions. Once at age 55, employees can contribute an additional $1,000 (to either single or family) as long as they are not covered under Medicare. Employer contributions (if eligible) will go into a Health Savings Account.Dental InsuranceThere is no cost to the employee for single coverage. Family coverage costs the employee $76.46 per month.Vision InsuranceVision coverage is available and paid for by the employee at the following monthly rates:Employee Only - $5.85Employee + Spouse - $11.69Employee + Children - $11.31Family - $18.35Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA's) AvailablePlan options include medical and dependent care FSAs, as well as a premium only plan (pre-tax deduction of medical and dental premiums). These amounts cannot be changed during the year unless there is a qualifying life event. All funds must be used by the claims deadline.FSA Medical/Health max election of $3,400 per yearLimited Purpose FSA max election of $3,400 per year (funds can only be used for vision, dental or orthodontia expenses when paired with an HSA until medical deductible has been met)FSA Dependent Care max election of $7,500 per year per family ($3,750 if married and filing separately)Paid Time OffHolidays: Full-time employees have approximately 14.5 paid holidays per year, including floating holidays, subject to the terms of the Personnel Policy or Collective Bargaining Agreement as applicable.Vacation: Full-time employees earn 11 to 23 days per year, depending on tenure. Part-time employees earn pro- rated accruals.Sick Time: Full-time employees accrue 12 sick days per year.
