Continuous Growth.Position OverviewAs a Combo Technician, you will work closely with the Body Shop Manager, Lead Body Technician, and Collision/Service Writers to coordinate daily repair activities and ensure each vehicle is repaired efficiently, correctly, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for both structural/body repairs and paint preparation/application ensuring seamless communication and execution from teardown to final polish.Key ResponsibilitiesManage multiple repairs simultaneously as assignedInspect vehicles and assist in damage evaluation and repair planningReview repair orders for completeness and accuracyVerify parts upon delivery and communicate discrepanciesCoordinate repair plan changes with management and writersProvide repair status updates throughout the processPerform structural and non-structural body repairsPrep vehicles for paint, including dent repair and surface correctionPaint & Refinish DutiesPrepare surfaces by sanding, masking, filling, and primingDiagnose paint issues (swirls, scratches, defects)Determine whether correction or repaint is requiredMix, tint, blend, and apply paint accuratelyPerform buffing, polishing, and finishing workMaintain paint guns, hoses, and equipmentMaintain paint booth and change filters as neededUtilize and document within Infinity Colornet ProgramMaintain working knowledge of GFS Ultra Mix Booth (or equivalent)Continue development of Axalta-Cromax product knowledgeProduction & CollaborationCommunicate effectively with Lead Tech, Writers, and ManagementCoordinate third-party assistance (Blue Rock or OReilly Auto) when neededEnter data and updates into CCC systemMaintain strong workflow communication to support customer updatesCore CompetenciesStrong communication & interpersonal skillsCritical thinking & problem-solving abilityEffective time managementAbility to multitask under pressureStrict attention to detailTeam collaboration mindsetAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExperience RequiredValid drivers license3+ years collision and/or paint experience preferredProficiency in masking, sanding, blending, spraying, and refinishingComputer literacy and data entry capabilityAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to stand, bend, twist, and move throughout the workdayWillingness to pursue ongoing industry trainingReliable, punctual, and positive attitudeOther ExpectationsMaintain a clean and organized work environmentAssist with general shop cleanliness and presentationTake direction well and remain adaptableMaintain high energy and professionalism in a fast-paced environmentWhy Nates Garage?Were not just fixing cars were building a company with long-term growth plans, strong leadership, and a commitment to employee satisfaction.
