Job Title: 504 FacilitatorReports to: PrincipalDept./School: Campus AssignedExemption Status: Exempt / 197 daysDate Revised: 4/1/2022Salary calculations will be commensurate with job experience.Primary Purpose:Implement the 504 evaluation process. Assess the educational, learning styles and program needs of students referred through the 504. Work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students under 504. Assist the building principal in providing a proactive, character education program to encourage students to maximize personal growth and development.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Educational diagnostician certificate, or Masters in Administrative Leadership or other field in EducationValid teaching certificateSpecial Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of special education diagnostic proceduresKnowledge of rules and regulations governing 504Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of research-based instructional strategiesDemonstrated respect for and rapport with all educational stakeholders(peers, parents, students, administration, etc.)Demonstrated ability as a presenter/facilitatorStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperience:Three years of teaching experiencePrevious evaluation experience preferredTechnology literacy (Internet, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, IEP Plus, Google docs, Eduphoria, Success Ed)Major Responsibilities and Duties:Instructional Support1. Receive student referrals and implement the 504 evaluation process.2. Monitors students in 504 to ensure that they are given sufficient support.3. Collect and organize relevant assessment data from student's cumulative folder, classroomteacher (s), principal, support staff, parents, and outside resource personnel.4. Facilitate the 504 regarding interpretation of evaluation data, development of interventions and accommodations and appropriate placement for students according to district procedures.5. Provide staff development to assist school personnel in the identification of students who fall under 504.6. Assist classroom teachers with interventions strategies.7. Consult with parents concerning the educational needs of students that fall under 504.8. Articulate the district's mission and goals in the area of 504.9. Assist school personnel in helping students explore alternative education programs and career counseling.10. Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those identified needs.11. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required by federal and state rules and regulations and district policy and procedures.12. Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school district.13. Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.14. Assess and respond to needs related to job responsibilities.15. Maintain strict confidentiality of student information.16. Develop and maintain effective individual and group relationships with students and parents.17. Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors and campus personnel.18. Consult with parents, teacher, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance their work with students.19. Develop needed professional skills appropriate to job assignment, including behavioral strategies for students and 504 laws.20.
