This is the working level class in the sub-series. An employee in this class provides emergency operations support to federal, state, local, and non-governmental organization stakeholders. This class differs from Emergency Management Operations Officer 1, in that an incumbent of the latter functions at the entry level. This class differs from Emergency Management Operations Officer 3 in that an incumbent of the latter performs supervisory emergency management operations work.Responsibilities Monitors and tracks incidents and planned events such as hazardous material releases, radiological material transportation missions, and mass gatherings. Serves as the 24-hour warning point for weather warnings, major transportation disruptions, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Department of Energy (DOE) incidents. Receives calls and notifications from Emergency Service Coordinators (ESC), Local Emergency Management Agencies from all 95 counties, and other public and private agency stakeholders.
