Canyon Nursery, known for its commitment to agricultural innovation and sustainability, is excited to introduce a bold new restaurant concept coming to Redding, CA in 2026. Rooted in the rich offerings of Northern California, this restaurant will highlight the region's abundance, featuring a menu that showcases fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with a spotlight on premium, locally raised beef.
To help bring this vision to life, they are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking General Manager to lead the development and execution of this venture. This role will be instrumental in shaping the restaurant’s character and guiding it from concept to grand opening—and beyond. The ideal candidate will oversee every facet of daily operations, from culinary excellence and customer experience to team leadership and financial success, ensuring the restaurant delivers a memorable and impactful dining experience.

What You’ll Do
Partner with ownership and consultants to shape the restaurant’s concept, design, and layout
Contribute to the selection of vendors for kitchen equipment, furnishings, and technology systems
Develop and implement operating procedures, training guides, and staffing plans
Build and lead the opening team, managing recruitment, onboarding, and training for both kitchen and front-of-house roles
Establish sourcing relationships with local farmers, ranchers, and suppliers to ensure fresh, regional ingredients
Oversee day-to-day operations, maintaining excellence in food quality, guest service, cleanliness, and ambiance
Manage inventory and ordering systems while fostering strong vendor partnerships with an emphasis on local sourcing
Lead scheduling, oversight labor, and staff development to support a productive and engaged team
Track and optimize financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and employment regulations
Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive, and collaborative team culture
What You’ll Need
5+ years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in a farm-to-table or upscale casual dining environment
Proven track record of opening and operating successful restaurants
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Passion for local food systems and sustainable sourcing
Knowledge of restaurant financials, POS systems, and inventory management
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
