Job Description:Job Title: Devops Automation Engineer (Python)Location : New York, NY (Hybrid- 3 days/week in office)Type: ContractJob Description:What You'll Do Build and maintain platform automation solutions using Python and related tooling.Design, improve, and operate internal platform capabilities that enhance developer productivity and operational reliability.Develop reusable frameworks and tooling for deployments, monitoring, remediation, reporting, and self-service operations.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable software delivery.Drive observability initiatives using metrics, dashboards, logging, and alerting platforms.Collaborate with application teams to improve platform adoption, deployment standards, and operational excellence.Support and enhance Kubernetes-based application platforms and deployment frameworks.Work with authentication and authorization technologies including OAuth2, SSO, and JWT.Analyze application, infrastructure, and database performance to identify optimization opportunities.Contribute to reliability engineering practices including automation, resilience, capacity planning, and operational readiness.Partner with engineering teams to reduce operational toil through automation and platform improvements.Must-Have Skills:Strong Python development and automation experienceExperience building operational tooling, automation frameworks, or platform servicesStrong understanding of Linux systems and scriptingExperience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, alerting, logging, and monitoring solutionsGood understanding of SQL and database fundamentalsHands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.)Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in enterprise environmentsUnderstanding of web applications, APIs, and service architecturesExperience with OAuth, SSO, JWT, or similar authentication technologiesStrong troubleshooting and system-level problem-solving skillsNice to HaveAnsible, Terraform, or HelmPlatform Engineering or Internal Developer Platform experienceExperience building self-healing or auto-remediation solutionsCloud-native architectures and servicesAI-assisted automation and operational tooling SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgetsWho You AreAn engineer who enjoys building solutions that eliminate manual effort.Passionate about automation, reliability, and engineering efficiency.Comfortable working across infrastructure, platforms, applications, and databases.Focused on improving developer experience while maintaining operational excellence.A systems thinker who balances reliability, scalability, and delivery speed.
