Position: Nurse Practitioner – Medical Weight Loss & GLP-1 TherapyType: 1099 - ContractLocation: Remote / TelehealthCompensation: CompetitiveAbout the RoleWe are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to support a growing medical weight loss program focused on safe, evidence-based care, including GLP-1 and related anti-obesity medications.This role is ideal for clinicians who are comfortable evaluating patients for medical weight loss treatment, prescribing when clinically appropriate, monitoring progress, managing side effects, and helping patients achieve sustainable health outcomes.Ideal Nurse Practitioner SpecialtiesWe are especially interested in NPs with backgrounds in:Family Nurse Practitioner — FNPAdult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner — AGPCNPWomen’s Health Nurse Practitioner — WHNPPrimary Care Nurse PractitionerEndocrinology-focused Nurse PractitionerInternal Medicine / Metabolic Health NPObesity Medicine or Weight Management NPExperience in primary care, endocrinology, diabetes care, metabolic health, women’s health, or obesity medicine is strongly preferred.ResponsibilitiesConduct telehealth evaluations for patients interested in medical weight lossReview medical history, current medications, contraindications, BMI, weight-related conditions, and risk factorsDetermine clinical appropriateness for GLP-1s or other weight loss medicationsPrescribe medications in accordance with applicable state laws, clinical guidelines, and company protocolsEducate patients on medication use, side effects, expectations, lifestyle changes, and safety considerationsMonitor patient progress, side effects, lab results, and treatment responseAdjust treatment plans when clinically appropriateDocument visits accurately and timely in the EHRCoordinate with supervising/collaborating physicians when required by state lawEscalate complex cases or adverse reactions appropriatelyRequirementsActive Nurse Practitioner license in good standingBoard certification as an NP, preferably FNP, AGPCNP, WHNP, or similar primary-care-oriented specialtyActive DEA registration preferred, or willingness to obtain if neededExperience prescribing or managing GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide, or related therapies preferredComfortable practicing through telehealthStrong understanding of obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, cardiovascular risk, and medication contraindicationsAbility to follow evidence-based protocols while exercising independent clinical judgmentExcellent bedside manner, patient education skills, and documentation habitsMust be authorized to practice in the state(s) where patients are locatedPreferred QualificationsObesity medicine, endocrinology, primary care, or weight management experienceMulti-state licensureExperience with cash-pay, D2C, or telehealth weight loss programsFamiliarity with lab review, metabolic panels, A1C, thyroid labs, lipid panels, and cardiovascular risk screeningExperience managing patients with diabetes, PCOS, insulin resistance, or metabolic syndromeKnowledge of GLP-1 prior authorization, affordability, and medication access challengesWhat We’re Looking ForWe are looking for clinicians who are thoughtful, safe, and patient-centered. This is not a high-volume “prescribe for everyone” role.
