Director of Modeling & Insights
We’re looking for a Director of Modeling & Insights to lead the development and evolution of advanced analytic models that power better decisions across claims, underwriting, pricing, and distribution. This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic leadership—driving innovation, ensuring strong model governance, and translating analytics into real business value.What You’ll Do ‒Lead the full modeling lifecycle—from problem framing and feature engineering to validation, explainability, and ongoing monitoring.Develop predictive and prescriptive models that deliver clear, measurable business impact.Partner closely with business leaders to pilot, scale, and operationalize analytic solutions.Own and oversee model validation, ensuring rigor, transparency, and regulatory alignment.Advance innovation through machine learning, AI use cases, A/B testing, uplift modeling, and automation.Mentor and develop data scientists and actuarial modelers, establishing best practices and consistent methodologies.Promote trust in analytics through strong communication, storytelling, and model explainability.What You Bring ‒Deep expertise in machine learning, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics.Strong command of model lifecycle management, validation, and governance.Ability to translate complex technical results into actionable business insights.Proven experience leading and mentoring analytics teams in cross-functional environments.Excellent communication skills and comfort influencing senior and executive stakeholders.Commitment to transparency, compliance, and responsible model design.What We’re Looking For ‒Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or similar).ACAS or FCAS preferred.10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or actuarial modeling, including leadership roles.Demonstrated success deploying advanced models with real business outcomes.Experience in insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated industry strongly preferred.Location: Hybrid (approximately 10-15% travel required.)Hiring Range: $197,500 - $217,400*Salary Range: $197,500 - $241,500*The hiring range represents Mutual of Enumclaw’s current hiring pay scale for this role.
