Civil EstimatorPay Rate: $100,000-$170,000/year; Based on experienceLocation: Syracuse, NY area (On-site)Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferredExperience: Proven civil/site estimating experience required; leadership experience strongly preferredOur client in the Syracuse, NY area is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to support bidding efforts, oversee estimating functions, and contribute to successful project delivery. This is a key leadership role responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing the estimation process, and collaborating with project teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids. This opportunity is ideal for a construction professional with strong site civil estimating experience and a passion for guiding teams and improving bid strategies.Responsibilities of the Civil Estimator will include:Lead and support the estimating team throughout all phases of the estimation processReview project plans, drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimatesUtilize estimating software such as ProCore, Foundation, B2W, and Bluebeam to prepare comprehensive bidsCollaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain essential project dataAnalyze project scope, identify potential risks, and determine opportunities for cost savingsPrepare bid packages and submit proposals within required deadlinesNegotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricingMonitor project costs during construction and provide updates to stakeholdersConduct post-project reviews to assess estimate accuracy and identify areas for improvementSupport continuous improvement of estimating processes, tools, and team performanceJob RequirementsQualifications for the role of Civil Estimator:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferredProven experience as a Civil Estimator, Chief Estimator, or similar role within the construction industryStrong knowledge of site civil construction, estimating practices, and industry standardsProficiency with estimating and construction software, including ProCore, Foundation, B2W, and BluebeamExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and technical dataStrong negotiation and communication skillsSolid understanding of project management principlesHigh attention to detail, accuracy, and organizationLeadership experience and ability to guide junior estimators preferredAbout Us:redShift Recruiting is the region's premier recruiting agency with over 100 years of combined experience in the recruiting field.
