Director, Product Development & Marketing

AKDO is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Product Development to lead our product vision, drive innovation, and elevate our brand across all channels. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping product strategy, overseeing development from concept to launch, and driving integrated marketing initiatives that support revenue growth and brand differentiation. This is a fully onsite role based in either Bridgeport, CT or New York, NY. What You’ll Do Strategic Leadership Define and execute product and marketing strategy aligned with business goals Drive integrated marketing campaigns across digital, PR, events, and sales channels Analyze performance data to optimize product portfolio and marketing ROI Partner with Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Executive Leadership to drive results Lead and develop a high-performing Product Development and Marketing team Product Development Guide product development for all categories: Boutique Collections, Glass, Stone, Metal, Ceramic, and Porcelain. Lead the identification, evaluation, and sourcing of new product and supplier opportunities, including initial cost analysis and pricing strategy alignment, while directing internal and external design efforts including R&D, renderings, supplier collaboration, sample development, and procurement. Transition approved suppliers and negotiated cost structures to Procurement, ensuring clear documentation, alignment, and seamless operational onboarding. Present new product concepts, initial pricing strategy, and samples to Sales leadership to gather feedback and ensure alignment prior to go-to-market execution. Drive product viability decisions by balancing design, cost, margin, and market opportunity, ensuring timely and commercially sound outcomes. Ensure product and packaging specifications, installation standards, and technical documentation are accurately developed, documented, and maintained in alignment with operational and brand standards. Develop and manage licensed designer collections and strategic design partnerships. Set and manage budgets, timelines, and vendor relationships for new product initiatives. Own product lifecycle management, including disciplined SKU expansion, rationalization, and discontinuation to maintain a focused, high-performing, and profitable assortment. Drive new product initiatives to achieve target margin, pricing, and revenue objectives. What You Bring 8+ years of experience in product development Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams Strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution ability Experience working with tile, stone, or similar hard surface, building materials, or design-driven products required Strong financial acumen and data-driven decision-making skills Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
