Part-Time Upper School Spanish Teacher

Ideal candidates are dedicated educators who value interdisciplinary teaching and creative learning experiences; will possess strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills; ideally, have a minimum of 3 years classroom teaching experience; and are highly motivated and passionate about making a difference in students’ lives.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesTeach 2 sections of Upper School Spanish, Level II Provide academic support for students outside of class time, as neededEngage with new technologies and methodologies for teaching and assessing Show a commitment to community and belonging workCommunicate professionally and compassionately with every member of the community: students, families, and colleagues alikeCommunicate regularly and effectively with Division Heads and advisors about student progressWork with the Learning Center to support students with learning differencesAttend and participate in parent conferences and school eventsParticipate in grade-level and school-wide meetings, as neededCover study halls, lunch duties, and other assignments, as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree, or higher, in education or Spanish preferredIdeally, 3 years of experience teaching a similar age group and similar contentPassionate and knowledgeable about progressive education, problem-based teaching and learning, and differentiationExperience teaching French is also a plusStrong planning and organizational skillsA good sense of humor and collegial spiritCoupled with these credentials, the candidate will have a deep understanding of differentiated instruction, a flexible and team-oriented approach, exceptional organizational and written communication skills with attention to detail, and superior interpersonal skills.
