Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Experience level: 3 years Schedule: Monday to Friday Job Overview: This position will be based at DRI located in Torrance and will assist internal staff across the USA. You will primarily be working in a production environment. As an Industrial Tailor, you’ll play a crucial role in providing quality service by creating clothing for soft targets and meticulously sewing various manufacturing products. Your attention to detail ensures the quality and precision that drives our company’s success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned or requested. Measuring and cutting: Taking precise measurements of foam boards and fabric, then cutting them to the required size and shape. Pattern Creation: Creating patterns and documentation for new sewn products Sewing and Attaching: Stitching fabric onto foam boards, ensuring a secure fit. This will involve using specialized sewing machines or hand- sewing techniques. Altering and Tailoring: Ensures clothing fits and functions properly Quality Control: Inspecting the final product for any defects or inconsistencies. Collaboration: Working closely with the engineering team to develop material/fabric patters for proper fit and to achieve the desired outcome. Sewing Machine Maintenance: Adhere to maintenance schedules for sewing machines, including cleaning, oiling, and troubleshooting issues. Your Background: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an industrial Tailor Must possess knowledge in various types of stitching and sewing techniques and their proper application Proficient in the operations of various sewing machines High School Diploma or GED preferred Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and executing instructions. Possesses strong interpersonal skills and communication skills Ability to work under minimum supervision Ability to manage time and complete daily tasks Demonstrates strong work ethic, integrity, and a high level of attention to details Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to walk, bend, reach, and lift, if necessary 25 pounds or more.
