Lead Software Engineer - Java

Overview In this role you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable web applications and microservices that power the GameStop omni-channel shopping experience. You will work with cross-functional partners to deliver high-performing, customer-centric software that scales for millions of users. You will mentor peers, influence architecture, and drive performance improvements in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on leadership role that shapes engineering outcomes and customer experiences. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build shopping experiences across platformsArchitect, design, and implement high-performant web applications and servicesWork across front-end, middle tier, and back-end servicesTranslate requirements into architecture, design, and extensible codeWrite scalable, readable, and tested code with ongoing performance optimizationReview code and provide feedback to peers to improve solutionsProvide mentorship to less experienced engineersUse data to inform prioritization decisionsOperate effectively in ambiguous environments and make tradeoffs for customer impactEstablish strong relationships across the organizationBe results-oriented, data-driven, and focused on innovative customer experiences Key requirementsBachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant experience12+ years of relevant experience building highly performant full-stack applications and servicesThrives in fast-paced, startup-like, agile environmentsStrong fundamentals in computer science, OOD, and data structuresWorking knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScriptExperience with HTML5, CSS, and web frameworks such as React or AngularProficiency in at least one modern language/tech (Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Angular.js, or React)3+ years of experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud serviceProven track record of collaborating across multiple teamsCollaborativeCustomer-focusedBias for actionHTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScriptReact or Angular in a production environmentJava, JavaScript, Node.js, Angular.js, or React
