Technical Buyer

Goldbug Manufacturing, a division within Corvid Technologies, specializes in high-volume production and rapid prototyping. As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Buyer to manage procurement activities and serve as a bridge between our Engineering, Supply Chain, and Legal/Contracts teams, providing a process to streamline our purchasing workflows, manage complex customer requirements, and support our engineering teams within this new system environment.Candidates should possess a strong technical background and be comfortable reading engineering drawings, interpreting multi-component Bills of Materials, and understanding manufacturing processes. The position will require strong attention to detail and an ability to remain organized in a growing, fast-paced manufacturing environment with competing priorities. This role will manage daily purchasing operations, source rapid-prototype vendors, and oversee Outside Service Processing workflows while ensuring customer-specific commercial requirements are met. Ultimately, success in this role will come from providing direct support to internal customers, helping them acquire materials and services in an efficient, compliant manner that meets customer requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesReview internal purchasing requests from engineering teams; analyze attached quotes, technical specifications, and digital shopping carts to ensure 100% accuracy before issuing Purchase Orders (POs)Review, interpret, and manage Terms and Conditions (T&Cs), ensuring any customer-specific quality, regulatory, and commercial compliance requirements accurately flow down into supplier POsProcess orders against specific Job Numbers, Manufacturing Order (MO) Numbers, and Charge Codes within the Deltek Costpoint systemRead and interpret complex engineering drawings and multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure all individual components and exact quantities are accounted for, particularly for multi-component parts sent out for Outside Service Processing (OSP)Efficiently manage the Approved Vendor List (AVL) negotiate purchasing terms, and minimize lead-time delays for the engineering team – including sourcing, evaluating, and onboarding new vendors for unique, one-off prototyping requirementsProactively communicate with engineers, shop floor personnel, and logistics teams to track physical and electronic deliveries across our national campuses, ensuring parts are accurately routed for subsequent manufacturing stepsQualificationsCandidate must be a US Citizen and willing to work onsite in the Mooresville, NC area3 or more years of proven experience in supply chain, procurement, or purchasing specifically within a manufacturing or hardware prototyping environmentExperience reviewing and managing commercial Terms & Conditions (T&Cs), with a solid understanding of flow-down requirements from diverse customer portfoliosDemonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical/engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, and multi-level BOMsHands-on experience operating within an ERP system is required, prior experience with Deltek Costpoint is preferredDemonstrated experience managing complex line items, precise charge codes, and strict delivery timelines while minimizing errorsAbout CorvidCorvid Technologies is an engineering firm specializing in using high-fidelity, computational modeling and simulation to analyze, design and manufacture products for aerospace, DoD, and commercial customers.
