DescriptionThe Production / Manufacturing Technician V serves as the Lead Technician on the production floor, responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations and leading complex hardware builds. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring production activities meet quality, schedule, and compliance requirements. The Lead Technician partners closely with engineering, program management, and quality teams to drive efficient execution across multiple programs.What You’ll DoLead daily production activities, assign work, and track progress to ensure on-time delivery and performance standardsOwn and execute complex and first-article builds, serving as the technical lead for mission-critical hardwareMentor and train technicians (Levels I–IV), providing hands-on guidance and technical oversightAct as the primary liaison between production, engineering, program management, and quality teamsTroubleshoot technical and process issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actionsDevelop, refine, and standardize assembly processes, workflows, and documentationEnsure all builds meet AS9100, ISO 9001, and ITAR compliance requirements, including proper documentation and traceabilitySupport production planning by providing input on materials, equipment, and scheduling needsParticipate in customer support activities, including demos, installations, and field troubleshooting when needed RequirementsQualifications8–10+ years of experience in high-precision manufacturing, prototyping, or system integrationStrong expertise in mechanical, electrical, and/or optical assembly techniquesProven experience leading teams and coordinating complex production effortsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationExperience working with ERP systems and quality assurance processesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilitiesEffective communication skills across technical and non-technical teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace, defense, optics, or electronics manufacturing environmentsSubject matter expertise in a specialized area (e.g., opto-mechanical assembly, RF integration, precision machining)EducationHigh school diploma or GED requiredTechnical training, certification, or trade education preferredWork Environment and ScheduleOnsite, full time positionManufacturing and lab environmentPay And BenefitsHourly pay range: $33.00 - $48.00 per hourMedical, dental, and vision employee coverage fully paid by the employerThree weeks of vacation to startAutomatic company contribution to 401K – 5% of earned wages, no matching requiredEducational assistance and professional development opportunitiesAdditional RequirementsTo comply with U.S. Government export control regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. person as defined by law.
