Algorithm And Network Simulation EngineerLogos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of the commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high-performance satellite-based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Business customers have contracts with agreed-upon performance standards for their broadband, and Logos will build these capabilities into the system from the beginning. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals. The Networking team at Logos Space is responsible for ensuring the success of our network through development of a software defined networking, performance monitoring and other components of the ground segment. It is also responsible for collaboration with other aspects of the spacecraft design, such as the RF, power management and other aspects. This network will simultaneously offer services at Layer 2, 2.5 and 3 to enterprise customers, which is a unique service for which Logos will have to develop the methodology to manage flows at an enterprise level of assurance. This position will evolve the tools to understand the impact of this development, starting with conceptual framework, and eventually evolving to discrete event simulation at the message level, and ultimately to a "digital twin" of the deployed system. As an Algorithm and Network Simulation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, optimization, and validation of our cutting-edge hybrid space and terrestrial network. You will be responsible for developing sophisticated simulation models and algorithms to analyze performance, evaluate emerging technologies, and optimize network behavior across this complex environment. This is an exceptional opportunity to drive core innovation within our network architecture. You should be prepared to work and thrive in a fast moving environment where you are comfortable taking vague design ideas and turning them into tangible hardware ready for test and flight. We are seeking engineers who love to solve hard problems! The full responsibilities include:Performance Prediction and Strategy DevelopmentProvide Early Evaluation of Network AlgorithmsMature this CapabilityIntroduce Hardware performance models and limitationsModel System Resource ManagementParticipate in Hardware in the Loop TestingManage Across ToolsScenario Definition and ExecutionData Analysis and InterpretationSupport Technology Evaluation through SimulationManage the Evaluation TeamCollaboration with Engineering TeamsDocumentation and ReportingBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on networking and simulation (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network simulation and modeling.Strong understanding of networking protocols and architectures across Layers 2, 2.5 and 3.Some experience with space-based systems, orbital dynamics, and other aspects of networking unique to space-based platformsProficiency in one or more network simulation tools (e.g., NS-3, OMNeT++, OPNET, NetSim, ...).Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or Java for model development and data analysis.Solid understanding of algorithm design and analysis principles.Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization techniques.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Preferred QualificationsExtensive experience simulating satellite networks, including orbital mechanics, link budgets, and space-specific protocols.Experience in modeling wireless networks, and RF unique phenomenology.Knowledge of optimization techniques (e.g., linear programming, genetic algorithms) applied to network resource allocation and routing.Experience with cloud-based simulation environments.Familiarity with machine learning techniques for network performance prediction and optimization.Logos Space Services is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering creativity, curiosity and diverse perspectives among employees.
