This includes ownership of the monthly close process, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and oversight of property-level accounting. This role requires someone who can operate at both the detail and strategic level, building strong processes while providing meaningful financial insights to ownership.ResponsibilitiesOwn the monthly and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingManage all general ledger activity, reconciliations, AP/AR, and cash flow trackingOversee property-level and consolidated financial statements, including variance analysis and reporting to ownershipLead the annual budgeting and forecasting process; track actuals against budgetsEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal controlsCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and lenders as neededImplement and improve accounting systems, processes, and controls to support growthProvide strategic financial analysis to Principals to guide decision-making and business plansTo be successful in the role, the candidate should:Take ownership of the accounting function with a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindsetHave meticulous attention to detail with a process-driven workflowBe intellectually curious and drawn to challenges — comfortable in a lean environment without heavy infrastructureHave a strong work ethic and act with urgencyBe self-aware with the ability to own mistakes, learn, and growCommunicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholdersQualifications3 to 7+ years of progressive accounting experience (real estate or related industry strongly preferred)CPA or public accounting experience a plus, but not requiredExperience with property management/accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar) a plusStrong technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with GAAPDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a small, fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and leadership skillsInterested in hearing more?
