Contractor - Real Estate Lending

Attached Document & Research Liaison IBasic Purpose: To research, document and support legal cases that impact the business unit. Oversee security/legal responses involving complex cases and escalated situations to ensure effective and optimum resolution.Responsibilities:Communicate with the Office of General Counsel for legal related matters involving specific business units and/or policiesInvestigate and respond to CFPB and BBB complaintsResearch and analyze claims/related actions; resolve issuesIdentify and address compliance issues; update guidelines and procedures to minimize riskResearch potential legal issues using existing system of recordRequest information and documentation from other business units to clarify details or resolve cases within mandated time and regulationsSummarize depositions and other related legal proceedings; conduct investigations and statistical/documentary researchPrepare written legal summaries, analyses, and legal documentsServe as contact point for escalated legal situationsInform attorneys of applicable and specific legal matters and the impact on the organizationIdentify areas of improvement; determine solutions; implement enhancements/changes to improve operations, standards, and resultsPrepare ad hoc and required industry and regulatory reports including responses to audit inquiries in compliance with internal and external regulationsServe on teams and task groups for projects/initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organizationReview and research high profile member complaints as well as sensitive and confidential personnel issues and responsesCollaborate with training team to ensure procedural guidelines are conveyed accurately and consistently followedPerform other related duties as assigned or appropriateQualifications and Education Requirements:Effective skill in comprehending, analyzing, applying, and communicating complex written legal documentsBasic understanding of state and federal court systems and the legal processBasic skill in researching and summarizing state and federal statutesWorking knowledge of operational and regulatory risk controls, concepts, and practicesWorking knowledge of NCUA rules, regulations and federal lawsWorking knowledge of legal documents such as trusts, powers of attorney, complaints, and miscellaneous court ordersAdvanced organizational, planning and time management skillsAdvanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAdvanced skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisionsExperience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goalsWorking knowledge of document control and document security measuresAdvanced verbal and written communication skillsExperience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendorsAdvanced skill establishing and expanding relationships with key members/customersAdvanced skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy, and tactEffective word processing and spreadsheet software skillsWorking knowledge of related department systems, principles, policies, and financial practicesDesired Qualifications and Education Requirements:Thorough understanding of the financial services environmentFamiliarity with client's functions, policies, procedures, products, and servicesBank Secrecy Section (BSA): Remains cognizant of and adheres to client policies and procedures, regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.Position: (2) REL Document and Research Liaison IExperience Level Desired: Level 1 (1-5yrs)Location: 1 position at GPO (Pensacola, FL) | 1 position at HQ (Vienna, VA)Shift (Time): 8:00am - 4:30pm (in respective time zones)Campus Reporting Type: Hybrid with the expectation to report onsite a minimum of 2 days per week (Ensuring to meet client Hybrid Guidelines)Hybrid expectations change April 2026 to a minimum of 3 days per week however 2 days per week will be required until the anticipated change in policyOvertime: Overtime will not be available for this contract assignmentContract Length: 6 months from start date
