The Texas State Aquarium provides high quality, entertaining programming through education, conservation, and wildlife rehabilitation. We strive to provide our guests with an exciting, educational, and memorable experience.Responsibilities include but are not limed to:Institutional Records and Data ManagementMaintain and support centralized animal, program, and regulatory records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across institutional systems.Manage data entry, quality control, and auditing processes within designated database systems (e.g., animal records, permits, reporting platforms).Generate routine and ad hoc reports to support leadership decision-making, regulatory compliance, and conservation program participation.Coordinate documentation related to animal transactions, acquisitions, dispositions, and inter-institutional communications.Ensure record retention practices align with institutional policies and applicable regulatory requirements.Regulatory and Compliance Documentation SupportAssist in preparation and submission of regulatory reports, permit applications, renewals, and required agency documentation.Compile and verify institutional data to support accreditation requirements, regulatory reporting, conservation partnerships, and grant obligations.Maintain tracking systems for permit deadlines, reporting timelines, and compliance requirements.Support internal audits and external inspections through organized documentation and data retrieval.Research and Literature Review SupportConduct literature reviews to support program development, research initiatives, and strategic planning.Summarize scientific publications, regulatory guidance, and technical materials for leadership and program teams.Assist with preparation of research proposals and supporting documentation.Maintain an organized repository of relevant scientific, technical, and regulatory reference materials.Grant Development and Reporting SupportAssist in preparation, formatting, and submission of grant applications and supporting documentation.Assist in coordinating the compilation of data, narratives, budgets, and attachments required for grant proposals.Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance documentation.Assist in the preparation of interim and final grant reports, including data summaries and narrative updates.Maintain organized records of grant applications, awards, and reporting documentation.Writing, Editing, and Documentation DevelopmentDraft, edit, and format internal reports, program summaries, briefing documents, and institutional narratives.Assist with development, revision, and standardization of SOPs, manuals, and records management policies.Ensure consistency in terminology, formatting, and documentation standards across departments.Prepare data-driven summaries and written analyses for internal and external stakeholders.Program and Administrative CoordinationCoordinate meetings, track action items, and support documentation for cross-departmental initiatives.Facilitate organized communication between program teams, regulatory agencies, and institutional partners.Support onboarding documentation and administrative workflows for research and program staff as needed.Assist leadership with special projects requiring data analysis, documentation review, or structured reporting.Institutional Standards and Professional ConductEnsure all documentation and records comply with applicable AZA, state, and federal regulations.Maintain confidentiality of sensitive institutional, regulatory, and research information.Participate in proactive team efforts to support departmental and organizational goals.Perform related duties as assigned consistent with the scope and level of the position.Abide by all policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.Experience RequiredBachelor's degree in biology, wildlife science, environmental science, research administration, public policy, or related field; 2-5 years relevant experience preferred.PerksThis position offers an attractive benefits/vacation package including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and 403(b) retirement plan with a 100% match of the first 5% contributed.How to ApplyTexas State Aquarium Career Page: Texas State AquariumTexas State Aquarium2710 N Shoreline Blvd.Corpus Christi, TX 78402Phone: 3618811307Visit our website
